Creation (Autumn Term)
In RE these past few weeks, we have been exploring the Creation Story and how it feels to be a Creator. Using the following quote from the Bible, 'In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth' (Genesis 1), we thought about how we could create a piece of art from materials we could find. However, we had to link our artwork with the Creation Story, explaining our reasons behind our creation. This enabled us to also think about The Fall.

Modern Day Noah's Ark (Summer Term)
Starting off our summer term with the value of perseverance, we revisited the story of Noah's Ark. We then looked how the story links to modern day using the example of a proposal for a conservation park in South Africa called Noah's Ark. It was the idea of a British entrepreneur who wants to create the park to preserve every species on the planet. His reasons included: climate change, poaching, ocean plastic and overdevelopment which are destroying species and their habitats. The story suggests a crowdfunding page was set up to help raise funds for Noah's Ark. We decided to use drama and freeze frames to tell this story.
Gospel, Salvation and Kingdom of God (Spring Term)
Through our RE learning, we have been focussing on the question, 'What Kind of World Does God Want?' We started our learning journey with exploring the teachings of Jesus and how they link to our lives today. We then looked into the sacrifice of Jesus and how others sacrifice themselves to help in communities, such as Salvation Army, volunteers in shelters and people giving up their time to raise money for charities. Finally, we learnt about the descent of the Holy Spirit and the events that took place on the 49th day after Easter Sunday (known as Pentecost). We created our own illustration that represented:
Romans 3:22 'We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes no matter who we are.'
Trust Through Daniel and the Lion's Den (Spring Term)
Class 4 have been busy thinking about how our value of 'Trust' is identified throughout the story of Daniel and the Lion's Den. We decided to create a story book to teach others about the story, and demonstrate how it links to our school value of Trust.
The Story of Abraham (Autumn Term)
See English link below.
2022 - 2023
Understanding Sikhism
We took our RE lesson outdoors today, where we converted our yurt into a Gurdwara. Our recapping of previous learning was complete via orienteering, where the teams could collect a piece of puzzle for the focus of the day's lesson; The Five Ks. Once our learning was complete, we could tuck into the rice that was shared between us.
Collective Worship (Spring Term)
Class 4 were given the opportunity to demonstrate the value of Trust during Collective Worship. They worked together on the theme of 'trusting others when in need', and created a small theatrical performance to the rest of the school. Well done to all involved.
Creation (Autumn Term)
We are focussing on Creation this half term and have started our unit with recounting the Creation Story through art. The children enjoyed collecting a variety of resources for their artwork.

Salvation
We have been recapping on prior knowledge about Salvation in order to look deeper into why Jesus was sacrificed for us. We identified where Salvation is placed within The Big Frieze and used the image to remind us of what we already know.
Christmas Experience Day
Today, our whole school have been learning about the Christmas Story. Our class focused on retelling The Epiphany from the perspective of the Three Wise Men.
We have also been busy with making mince pies, including the pastry, and creating Christmas characters from toilet rolls and pompom reindeers. They have thoroughly enjoyed the day that was planned by two Year 6 children.
