History
At Cheddon Fitzpaine Church School, history is underpinned with a 'big question' that the pupils explore and answer through their learning. Local links are identified and form part of the pupils' learning journey. Where possible other curriculum areas link with this 'big question' to allow for a deepening level of knowledge using cross curricular approaches.
Our history curriculum intent:
- To ensure that pupils have a deep-rooted understanding of history in their local area, within Britain and the wider world.
- Children consider how their lives have changed compared to those of the past.
- To ensure that children build on their knowledge of the chronology of historical periods, all classes will review previous learning, discussing where periods of history already learnt sit on a timeline.
