Music
At Cheddon Fitzpaine Church school, Music is taught through a variety of musical experiences using our voices, instruments and composition tools. Where possible, music is linked to the overarching 'big question' for the term.
Our Music curriculum intent:
• To enable all pupils to understand and explore how music is created, produced, and communicated through the interrelated dimensions of music: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and musical notation.
• To begin to improvise and compose music for a range of purposes using the interrelated dimensions of music.
• To participate in a variety of musical experiences through which we aim to build up their love of music, self- confidence, and sense of achievement.
We aim to develop the skills required for this by focussing our curriculum in the areas of:
- Listening and Appraising music.
- Singing
- Composition
- Whole class instrumental learning from Year 1 -Year 6
Individual or shared music lessons

The children in Class 3 made a school song to showcase our school values.
