Dance Assembly

On Wednesday this week, we were lucky enough to receive a visit from Suzanne and Sonya from the Whitmore School of Dancing. During assembly, they demonstrated many of the exciting and fun dances that children (and adults!) can learn and practise at the school.

Check out these photos of the children trying out some of the dance moves. If you would like to join the Whitmore School of Dancing, Suzanne’s email is on this week’s CHAT for you to contact her directly.

Beginner’s Football Club

Beginner’s Football Club runs every Tuesday lunchtime, with children from key stages 1 and 2 attending.

The aim of this club is to have fun, promote social development and develop basic football skills in a friendly environment. This club will continue into the summer term.

Music Club

Last week in Music Club we created a composition for world book day.

Country Dancing

Country dancing club runs on a Friday after school for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.  We are learning dances such as The Virginia Reel, I Want to be Near You and Lucky 7.

The aim of the club is to take part in the Somerset Folk Festival.  This happens on the Cathedral Green in Wells, where schools from all over the county dance together on the green to a live band.  This year the event is on Saturday 13th June.

Eco Club

Eco club meet every other Thursday in class 1 with Miss Conti.  We discuss how we can make the school more environmentally friendly.

Some of our jobs include; litter picking, delivering assemblies to the school and encouraging children to recycle and get involved in caring for our school and the world.

Please have a look at our action plan to see what we are working on this year Eco Club Action Plan 2014-2015.

We will update the page with photos so please come back and have a look!

Music Club

Fantastic session today for the Musicians of Music Club.

The children have been learning the value of different beats.

Well done my lovely composers!
